Many people ask me: “What’s the difference between medical aesthetics in Busan and Seoul?”

Honestly, before I actually went to Busan, I also thought, “Since it’s all Korean medical aesthetics, Seoul should be fine, right?”

After going, I regretted it.

Regretted not going sooner.

Price, let’s talk about what everyone cares about most first

Medical aesthetic clinics in Gangnam, Seoul, are truly expensive to an exaggerated degree. For the same skin booster, Gangnam might start at 5,000 TWD, while Busan is about half that, and some clinics even include numbing cream.

It’s not because Busan uses inferior products; many clinics use original Korean injections. The key is that rent and labor costs are different, and clinic pricing strategies vary.

But one thing needs to be clear—cheap doesn’t mean risk-free. I suggest everyone check reviews and licenses first; don’t just rush in based on price.

Environment and technology, did Busan lose?

To be honest, Busan doesn’t have the same concentration of “entire medical aesthetic buildings” like Gangnam.

But!

In recent years, the number of medical aesthetic clinics in Busan has been rising. Many famous doctors from Seoul open branches in Busan, or doctors trained locally in Busan have very solid skills.

The one I went to was clean and tidy, the nurses had great attitudes, and basic English communication was no problem. Conversely, I visited one in Seoul where the attitude was a bit cold and the wait for an appointment was very long.

Language communication, Busan is actually less competitive

There are too many foreign customers in Gangnam, Seoul. Some clinics have an “anyway, you won’t understand” attitude toward foreigners.

Relatively speaking, foreign customers in Busan are not as dense. Clinics are more patient when facing foreign guests and are willing to explain each step slowly.

When I went, the doctor specifically used pictures to explain the injection sites and expected effects. The process took about ten minutes longer, but it really put me at ease.

Post-treatment service, how is Busan?

I have to mention this.

After I finished my skin booster in Busan, the clinic gave me a detailed post-treatment care guide, including face washing, masking, and skincare product choices. They even added me on LINE for online inquiries.

On the third day after the procedure, I was a bit red. I sent a message, and they replied in about half an hour, proactively checking on my recovery.

In Seoul, the clinic I went to just gave me a sheet of precautions that was already on their flyer, like a factory shipment, with no follow-up care at all.

So, which one to choose?

If it’s your first time for Korean medical aesthetics, you have no one to go with, and your language skills aren’t great, I suggest starting with Busan.

The prices are friendly, the clinic attitudes are good, communication is less stressful, and things needed for the recovery period are easy to buy locally.

But if you’ve been before, have specific items you want, and have a trusted doctor, then Seoul indeed offers more options, especially for high-end projects and special treatments where Seoul’s resources are still more abundant.

Honest Summary

Busan medical aesthetics and Seoul are different.

Both places have their own pros and cons; neither is absolutely better, it’s just about what suits you.

Instead of agonizing over which city to go to, it’s better to do your homework first—the treatments you want, budget, and recovery schedule. Once these are determined, the city is secondary.

If you want to see recommendations for clinics I’ve actually visited in Busan, I’ve compiled a list in the next article. Take it if you need it.

After reading this, if you feel it helped you, save it. You might need it one day when you go.
