Before leaving, I thought that staying at the Grand Hyatt Jeju on Jeju Island would mainly be about enjoying the hotel’s facilities itself. But once I got outside, I found that the nearby attractions were all so perfect for taking pictures! I kept shooting from morning till night, and even after replacing two batteries, they still weren’t enough. When I got back to Taiwan and started organizing the photos, I found myself in a real dilemma of having too many great pictures to choose from – what a happy trouble! Below is a list of the most picturesque spots near the Grand Hyatt Jeju that I have compiled; anyone who loves taking photos must check it out!

Recommended scenic spots near the Gyeongyu Hotel on Jeju Island for photography

First place: Tian Di Yuan Waterfall – a combination of waterfall and tropical plants; no matter how you photograph it, it will always turn out to be an amazing shot.

It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the Junyue Hotel to the Cheonjiyeon Waterfall. This place was definitely where I got the most amazing photos during my trip. The 22-meter-tall waterfall plunges down, surrounded by lush subtropical vegetation. When the lighting is right, the entire scene exudes an atmosphere reminiscent of a mysterious rainforest—no post-processing is needed at all to enhance its beauty!

Small tips for taking photos: It is recommended to go before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m., as the light will be softer at this time, and there will be no harsh glare that could cause exposure imbalance. Taking photos of the waterfall from the front, from the side, or from above will produce different effects. I took almost 100 photos of the waterfall alone – I really wanted to keep each one!

Second place: Seogwipo Coast Cliffs – a combination of sheer cliffs and ocean views, the perfect setting for stunning Instagram photos that can be easily created.

Walking along the coastal path beside the Junyue Hotel, you can admire several truly spectacular sections of basaltic cliffs. The black volcanic rocks create a striking contrast with the azure sea, making it perfect for taking Instagram-worthy photos. Especially during high tide, when the waves crash against the cliffs and spray water everywhere, the dynamic scenery is absolutely amazing to capture.

This place is also an excellent spot for watching sunsets. During that golden hour right before the sun sets, the entire sky turns orange-red, and when this color is reflected on the black rock faces and the sea surface, the resulting combination of colors is simply breathtaking – I could only keep pressing the shutter button!

Third place: A distant view of Seokdo Island – the seascapes of this isolated island are truly dreamlike and naturally stunning.

Looking out towards the sea from the Seogwigeop Tourist Port, one can see the small island of Seoseom floating quietly on the surface of the water. Surrounded by seawater on all sides, its clear contours, combined with the backdrop of clouds and the seamless blend of sea and sky, create photographs that have a dreamy, almost filter-free quality.

You can also take a boat to Seokdo Island for close-up photography. The boat ride takes just a few minutes, and the volcanic rock terrain of the island, combined with the wild plants along the shore, creates photos that don’t look like those taken at a tourist attraction at all – they’re more like scenes from a documentary about a remote island!

Fourth place: Saegwipo Rainbow Coast Road – The colorful steps overlooking the sea make this a must-visit spot for those who love vibrant colors.

It is only about a 10-minute walk from the Junyue Hotel. Along the coast, there is a section called Rainbow Coast Road, where the brightly colored railings and steps, combined with the sea view in the background, make it a very popular spot for photos. This place is especially ideal for taking pictures while wearing brightly colored clothes, as the colors match perfectly with the surroundings. Even if a friend takes a photo of your back view, it will turn out extremely beautiful!

Fifth place: The Junyue Hotel itself – the hotel is a tourist attraction in its own right!

Don’t laugh, but I really want to include the hotel itself in this list. The architectural design of Grand Hyatt Jeju is truly impressive – the floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby offer direct views of the sea, and the perspectives from the café and the pool area are simply outstanding. If you take a photo of the sunset from the hotel terrace in the evening, people who don’t know about it might think you were at some famous resort location!

The angle beside the hotel pool is, in my personal opinion, the perfect one for photography. The reflection on the water surface, combined with the distant sea view, creates a stunning sense of depth. The photos resulting from this angle are so impressive that I can hardly believe they were taken from the same place!

Landscape spots around the Gyeongyu Hotel on Jeju Island perfect for photography

All these five photography locations are within walking distance, so there is no need to rent a car at all; you can visit them all in just one day! Friends who come to Jeju Island and stay at Junyue Hotel, remember to bring extra batteries—because your camera is sure to run out of battery just when you want to keep taking pictures😂 Have a great time taking photos; the beauty of Jeju Island is waiting for you to capture✨
